Coventry is a big, mixed city and the roofing work reflects that. In areas like Earlsdon and Chapelfields we are often called out to Victorian and Edwardian terraces with slate roofs that have been up there a long time. Flat roofing is a common feature on Coventry homes, whether it is over a rear kitchen extension, a garage, a dormer or a small porch roof. Many of these were originally covered with felt that has now reached the end of its useful life, and the first sign of trouble is usually a stain on the ceiling or water pooling on the surface.

When we assess a flat roof in Coventry we look at the deck underneath as well as the covering, because a sound replacement needs a dry, stable base and the right falls to move water towards the outlets. If the deck is still good and the damage is local, a repair may be enough. If the felt is perished, the seams have failed or water is ponding repeatedly, a full replacement is usually the better long-term option.

For replacements we typically recommend EPDM rubber roofing or GRP fibreglass. EPDM is supplied in large sheets with very few joints, which makes it a reliable choice for extensions and garage roofs. GRP gives a hard, seamless finish that works well on smaller areas such as dormers, bay roofs and porches where appearance matters.
